This is how i solved the grinding noise on my 2007 navara d40. Whn i lock it using the lock button between the seats it locks without noise. In some cars a door lock actuator becomes noisy and produces a squeaking or buzzing noise when the power door locks are locked or unlocked. My unlock sounds completely normal but ever since it started getting cold my door lock sounds like a sound from the game operation.

If the electric motor or the mechanism inside the door lock actuator wears out the door lock may lock or unlock slowly or work sometimes but not all the time.

My nissan rouge drivers side door now started making a buzzing noise when i lock my door. When i lock the door from the outside using the key fob it makes a mechanical whining crunchy noise inside the driver door.
